Description  

Manga! Greeting cards! Comics! Graphic Novels! Come and develop your cartooning skills with this 8-week course exploring the imaginative world of cartooning.

This fun, expressive, and immediately accessible corner of the art world is a fantastic way to explore emotions, communicate ideas and be creative. We will be practicing our cartooning using a variety of media including pencil, markers, ink, and watercolour. Some of the topics of this course will include:

EXPRESSIVE EYES: Using eyes to help tell the story.

GET MOVING: Drawing action both in a single frame and over a sequence of images.

FACES, FROM FUNNY TO FROWNY: Communicating a range of emotions through your character.

INKING TECHNIQUES: Letting the ink flow--and then reigning it in again!

PROPORTIONS: Using different relationships in size to emphasize character traits and personality.
