Develop your cartooning and drawing skills, with some painting accents in this imaginative course exploring a variety of illustrative art techniques.
Cartooning is a fun, expressive, and immediately accessible corner of the art world! It's a fantastic way to explore emotions, tell stories and develop creativity. In this course, we will be practicing drawing and cartooning through a series of fun exercises, scenarios, and games while we encourage each other and share ideas to grow as artists. We will be using a variety of media including pencil, markers, ink, and watercolour.
Some of the topics of this course will include:
- Sparking ideas and moving beyond the blank page
- Designing effective characters
- Telling stories through a sequence of images
- Creating strong compositions, colour schemes, and moods
- Balancing word and image
This curriculum covers similar topics as the kids' course, but targets an older age group with an interest in spending a longer and more focused time developing their work.
