Description  

*Ages 6-11

Develop your cartooning and drawing skills in this imaginative course exploring a variety of illustrative art techniques.

Cartooning is a fun, expressive, and immediately accessible corner of the art world!  It's a fantastic way to explore emotions, tell stories and develop creativity. In this course, we will be practicing drawing and cartooning through a series of fun exercises, scenarios, and games while we encourage each other and share ideas to grow as artists. We will be using a variety of media including pencil, markers, ink, and watercolour

Some of the topics of this course will include:

• Sparking ideas and moving beyond the blank page
• Designing effective characters
• Telling stories through a sequence of images
• Creating strong compositions, colour schemes, and moods
• Balancing word and image
